Dr. Paul Ekman is a psychologist and a pioneer in the study of emotions as they relate to facial expressions. The popular Fox TV series "Lie to Me" is loosely based on him and his work.
While the reading of this book is a tad challenging, it represents the best book to read on facial expressions:
